Web's Best Chunky Choco Bars Recipe
This chunky choco bars recipe is a fancier version of the traditional rice krispies bars.

Tip: Any chocolate recipe is greatly improved by using top quality chocolate.
Chunky Choco Bars Recipe
Ingredients for the Base
1/2 cup peanut butter, either smooth or crunchy
1/2 cup corn syrup
1/2 cup brown sugar
1 tbsp butter
2 cups rice krispies
1 cup peanuts, chopped or whole
Ingredients for the Top
1/4 cup butter
5/8 cup or 10 tbsp cocoa
1/2 cup granulated sugar
To make the base, begin by placing the peanut butter, corn syrup, brown sugar and 1 tbsp butter in a pot. Combine this well, then heat on medium heat until it almost, but not quite, reaches the boiling point. Stir constantly to avoid burning on the bottom. Remove from heat.
In another bowl, combine the rice krispies and the peanuts. Pour the hot peanut butter mixture in it and stir thoroughly. The mixture will be stiff. Butter an 8" by 8" pan, and pack this mixture firmly into the pan. Press it down well.
Let it stand while you prepare the chocolate topping. Using a small pot, combine the butter, cocoa and sugar. Place over low heat. Stir constantly until the butter melts and the sugar dissolves. Spread over the top of the bars. Chill in the refrigerator before slicing.
