Chocolate Grand Marnier Brownies Recipe

2 squares unsweetened chocolate
2 squares semisweet chocolate
2 eggs
1/2 cup butter
1 cup white sugar
2/3 cup flour
1/2 tsp baking powder
1/4 tsp salt
1/2 cup chopped pecans (opt)
1 tbsp vanilla
2 tbsp Grand Marnier

2 squares semisweet chocolate
2 tbsp light cream (or 2% milk)
1 tbsp Grand Marnier
2 tbsp butter
1 cup icing sugar

Using a good quality double boiler, melt the chocolate over hot water. Next, mix in the sugar, eggs and butter.

Stir the dry ingredients together, then add this mixture to the chocolate batter. Stir the vanilla in. Pour this into a greased eight inch by eight inch pan and bake at 350°. It should bake for about 25 minutes. When done, remove from oven and brush the Grand Marnier on the top. Cool for about sixty minutes before icing.

To ice, melt the chocolate and butter together. Add the cream and the liqueur. Add the icing sugar, mix well and smooth over the top of the chocolate grand marnier brownies.

These chocolate grand marnier brownies are best if you allow them to sit for a day before eating. That seldom happens, however!
