Recipe for Chocolate Crinkles

These chocolate crinkles are a nice addition to your holiday baking, or for any other time when you want a sweet, chocolate treat.

Chocolate Crinkles Recipe

The recipe makes approximately 6 or 7 dozen cookies.


1 cup unsweetened, premium quality cocoa
2 cups sugar
4 eggs
1/2 cup of vegetable oil
2 teaspoons of vanilla extract
2 cups flour
2 teaspoons of baking powder
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup icing sugar or confectioner's sugar


Mix together the cocoa, sugar (not icing sugar) and vegetable oil.

Add the eggs individually, beating well after each addition.

In a separate bowl,combine the flour, salt and baking soda. Stir this into the wet ingredients.

Cover the cookie dough and refrigerate for a minimum of four hours.

Preheat your oven to 350%deg;F.

Place parchment paper on your cookie sheets.

Grease your hands and roll the cookie dough into small balls, about one inch. Roll each of these balls in the icing sugar.

Place the balls on the cookie sheet and bake until done. This takes about ten minutes or a little longer.

Remove your chocolate crinkles from the oven and after one minute, transfer to wire racks to cool.
